"Ultimately, my work is an exploration of spirit and color, applied to both tangible and abstract imagery. Prior to painting any subject, I gain an immediate sense of the energy and color that the subject represents in my mind, body and soul. I become less interested in the accuracy of translating the subject and more interested in how the blending of colors will evoke the unique expression of a subject internally and externally."

"For each canvas, the colors emerge literally as the painting itself emerges, reflecting my own interpretation of the place, moment or subject matter. In the end, I am using color to create a sense of movement, energy and vibrancy while inviting each viewer to develop their own connection and interpretation to the canvas in their own unique way."
