For Beth Erickson Sands, specific personal emotions dominate each individual piece, but as in most abstract work, each piece is subject to individual interpretation by the observer. "I do not meticulously plan my paintings but rather start with a loosely abstract idea and let the creative process mold and shape the pieces as I work."
Sands hopes that her visual expressions move the observer in some clear way, whether they are inspired, provoked, fascinated or simply appreciative of color, texture and motion.
